Neo-Predef with Tetracaine is a antibacterial powder used for skin and ear infections. In addition, it is indicated as a superficial dressing, which can be applied to minor cuts, wounds, lacerations and abrasions, and for post-surgical application to reduce inflammation. Tetracaine is a topical anesthetic that has a numbing effect on the nerves in the area applied, to help alleviate your pet's discomfort.

Neo-Predef with Tetracaine should not be used in pets with deep infections, puncture wounds, or burns. Your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

 

Side effects:

Possible side effects may include redness (from sensitivity to neomycin), temporary loss of hearing or balance (if applied to a ruptured eardrum). The following reactions are rare, but if the pet experiences an allergic reaction such as irregular breathing, rash, fever, puffiness and swelling around the face contact your veterinarian immediately. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
